HOLY SH*T! Fergie’s New Video “M.I.L.F. $” Is Amazing!

“Fergalicious” 2.0 is here!

It’s a slippery slope to try and beat expectations and the bars set by previous successes. And for Fergie, her comeback album had fans begging for a redux of her first album “The Dutchess.” And after watching the debut of her “M.I.L.F. $” music video, FERGIE DELIVERED!

Screen Shot 2016-07-01 at 4.19.43 PM.png

I spent a while this morning unsuccessfully trying to catch up with the song’s energy. It’s pretty insane and hard swallow in one sitting. But the visual perfectly gels all the different styles of the song and gives the energy an amazing visual to back it up! My jaw dropped with the milky cream colored setup with her dance routine and shot with Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen! I’m not even a casual fan of Kim K. and she looked AMAZING! Literally couldn’t lift my jaw from the ground the entire video!

The video has a million star cameos from hollywood’s hottest moms. But the biggest win of all is the fact that no one makes music videos like our pop divas of the 00’s! The set was colorful and dynamic and gives her original “Fergalicious” a run for it’s money in the aesthetics department.  If you were on the fence about the song on first listen, give the video a chance and “M.I.L.F. $” is certainly the summer’s most high-energy music video! Check it out below!

#QuickListen Review: Demi Lovato’s “Body Say”

Demi Lovato answers back to Ariana and Selena’s bedroom talk.

Demi Lovato Body Say Cover

Less than a year after her latest album ‘Confident’ (October 16, 2015) was released, Demi Lovato has impatiently debuted the first taste of her next album. “Body Say” follows in the footsteps of Ariana Grande‘s “Dangerous Woman” and Selena Gomez‘s “Good For You” by serving as Demi’s take on a seductive and minimal production. It’s a big change from the power-driven vocals and themes her usual singles favor. And I have to say that I love the chorus! The chorus is multi-textured with Demi and its production commanding, “If my body had a say, I wouldn’t turn a way!” Then reducing to a seductive, “Touch, make love, taste you.” And the trade-off gives the song a unique structure from that.

If the single’s artwork is any indication of what she may be delivering in its visual — it looks like your basic call to a slinky bedroom setup. However, this song’s style doesn’t really vouch captivating/compelling visuals from today’s current artists anyways (unlike Madonna, Janet Jackson and Britney Spears).

Overall, It’s a good sign if her next album will be taking this direction because it challenges her to allow her music and lyrics to take precedence over her vocals for once. If you haven’t heard it, it’s currently avaible to stream on Spotify (below) and on iTunes’ Apple Music. Give it a listen!

Collaborative Playlist: Vol 2. “High-Intensity Cardio Motivation”

This month’s theme was:

INTENSE songs to work out to

I enjoyed collaborating last month on a playlist so much, I decided to make it a monthly project! This month I asked for help creating a playlist for the gym and running tracks. I got a lot of throwbacks and some great dance tracks. The playlist came together perfectly. I got so many responses! I field tested the playlist this morning and approved it myself! So all the songs are cardio-approved. The playlist ends with Enya‘s “Only Time” — I added that for the final cardio resting period… The suggestion was more playful than serious, but I wanted to make sure I incorporate all the suggestions you guys gave!

Check out the playlist below and FOLLOW it on Spotify!

6 Music Videos (+ Playlist) That Prove INNA is the “Queen of the Summer”

INNA is a “Queen of the #ClubRockers” by night and “Queen of the Summer” by day!

INNA-Take-Me-Higher-2014-1500x1500

Although summer doesn’t officially begin until June 20th, it is still hot as hell and the sun is out and inspiring a wave of summer music to quench our thirst!

…So stop listening to your father’s Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley and The Beach Boys music! There’s a GRANDE DAME SUMMER DIVA you may or may not be utilizing during the summer months! Sure Britney Spears, Kesha and Kylie Minogue fulfill all of our party desires throughout the year… But INNA is an exotic pop fruit that is ripest and juiciest in the summertime!

Whether you’re already a fan or need a little convincing: here are a few videos that will immediately immerse you into the finest beats and sounds that are served best with a frozen beverage and tons of sexy swimsuits dripping with water. And don’t worry, I know you’re going to like what you see so I’ve also completed a Spotify playlist at the bottom in conjunction with this flaw-free beachy music video list!

HERE ARE 6 OF INNA’S BEACHIEST (and sexiest) MUSIC VIDEOS:

1.) “Cola Song”

Though it’s one of her more pop-leaning tracks, “Cola” is literally the body anthem for everyone working hard for that “Coca-Cola bottle shape” this summer! It’s a great introduction to the fun effervescence of INNA!

2.) “Amazing”

This song was a major success in Europe when it was released and exemplified her perfection as a dance-house artist with a finely tuned aesthetic for beach-craving music fans!

3.) “Caliente”

The title says it all, the song and video are HOT! No one makes a beach video like INNA! And do you recognize the guy in the video? That’s Madonna‘s former boy toy, Jesus Luz. INNA has the Queen of Pop’s same taste in men…. Coincidence? I think not.

4.) “Crazy Sexy Wild”

I love the playfulness of this video. The song really makes you want to take a stroll down Venice Beach and that’s exactly what she did just before snatching that poor man’s tip money.

5.) “Sun Is Up”

Another masterpiece, INNA commands, “Sun is up! Move your body..” That’s it. She really secured her spot as the “Queen of the Summer!”

6.) “Endless”

There are so many more videos I could share but just like an endless night partying in the delirium of an Ibiza nightclub, the party must (never) end. “Endless” perfectly cures any party comedown (or hangover) with this flawless house-chillout music video. The video has a domestic violence theme…. but just ignore all that and admire her beauty and the calmness of this song!

INNA is my queen of these summer months and I hope that the videos entice you to incorporate her music into all of your summer adventures! Watch ALL of her music videos on her official YouTube account! And you can follow and stream my playlist with more of her summer-ready jams below!

20 Powerful Diva Deep Cuts You Need In Your Life (+ Playlist)

Never send a man to sing a woman’s song

One of my favorite sub-genres in pop music is the underrepresented but most-respected POWER BALLAD. It’s the one style that can perfectly parallel some of the most intense and emotional moments of our lives. Many attempt it, but only a few artists actually succeed at crafting the perfect one. Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion are obvious vocalists that have perfected the genre. But there are a few others that have aced the challenge of recording one as well. We’re all familiar with “I Will Always Love You” and “The Power of Love” but there are so many more that are hidden deep in some of our favorite artists’ albums! They’re usually tucked in last as album closers, rightfully so, because these divas give everything they have left in them with these songs. So below I’ve compiled a list of some strong songs that may have slipped past you over the years.

20 Powerful Diva Deep Cuts You May Have Missed:

1.) “I Surrender” – Celine Dion

This is the song that inspired this entire list. When I think of this song, I consider it one of the best songs never released as a single. And above all, it is powerful in a way that only Celine can demonstrate. It’s no wonder why so many aspiring singers cover this song as an exhibition of their vocal talents.

2.) “Pulse” – Toni Braxton

The title track from Toni Braxton’s last solo album that could almost be considered a deep cut in itself. This is an all-encompassing diva song — it had to make this list. It also empowered Toni Braxton to get back in the studio after being diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus in 2008. (YouTube audio is not the finished album version. Listen to it on my spotify playlist below)

3.) “Why Does It Hurt So Bad” – Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston is another one of the great vocalists of our time (RIP Nippy) and this was a great song recorded for the incredibily successful ‘Waiting To Exhale’ soundtrack. The song is everything we’ve come to love her for.

4.) “Lift Me Up” – Christina Aguilera

Even if you doubt Christina Aguilera in any way…. Just watch the video. She reuinted with Linda Perry again for this song. As always, it’s a match made in heaven between them two. Amazing. Flawless. Perfect. All of the sort.

5.) “The Art of Letting Go” – Mariah Carey

Though it’s riddled with cheeky lyrics… Mariah Carey still manages to expertly veil it all with power and conviction as she builds to a masterful climax worth listening for.

6.) “Lionheart” – Demi Lovato

If you haven’t heard Demi Lovato’s ‘Confident’ album, then you probably missed this song. Don’t miss it again! The song originally caught her attention after the loss of her puppy Buddy. She declares the track is an ode to the “lion heart” and fire we all have, animal and human alike, inside of us.

7.) “Sober” – Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson effortlessly shifts between vulnerable and powerful vocals in this song. She was inspired to write the song after a friend gave her relationship advice with the line, “pick all the weeds and keep the flowers.”

8.) “The Great Escape” – P!nk

Is the song about suicide or America’s epidemic of adults masking their problems with prescription pills and addictions? I don’t know…  Why don’t you decide. It’s one of P!nk’s few deep cuts that doesn’t go full-bluesy/folky. Great song.

9.) “Turning Tables” – Adele

Is anything from Adele really a deep cut at this point? This might not be a very deep cut, but it’s still deep nonetheless.

10.)  “Loved Me Back to Life” – Celine Dion

This was her first single from her 2013 album of the same name. It’s also penned by the talented Sia. So it technically shouldn’t be a deep cut… But it failed to impact any radio stations and many of you probably missed it… So here it is! One of her best songs she’s ever recorded in my opinion.

11.) “Understand” – Christina Aguilera

12.) “Breakaway” – Celine Dion

13.) “Vanishing” – Mariah Carey

14.) “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” – Whitney Houston

15.) “Hero” – Toni Braxton

16. ) “Blank Page” – Christina Aguilera

17.) “I Don’t Believe You” – P!nk

18.) “Side Effects of You” – Fantasia

19.) “Fix A Heart” – Demi Lovato

20.) “King” – Tamar Braxton
